Back home

Well, sadly the time came in Icapui and Ibicuitaba to say good bye. Joris drove us kindly up to Fortaleza but we missed the flight, cause the plane went earlier then what was written on our tickets. But luckily we met Joris again and so we made a hell of a party night in Orbita in Fortaleza. Sunday nights in Orbita kick ass ,man. Next day we catched the flight down to Rio de Janeiro. There we made two days hardcore sightseeing on Corcovado and Pao de Azucar. Wow, what a city...we both were at so many Citys in the world but Rio is really one of the most beautiful we ever saw. For our long flight back home they changed the flight again, but luckily not over Sao Paulo, direct from Rio over Paris to Zurich.
Now, we are back home and what we have are wonderful memories and a lot of Photos.

Another 5 days

After quite a long time here in Icapui, and Joris(our host) taking us on small trips to other secret beautiful spots,we decided to go to the well known Canoa Quebrada for a night or two. Finally it became just one.Its really beautiful with its amazing beach , red cliffs, and the dunes. And the nightlife must be a blast ,but we were too tired to experience that.We spended the night in a house which was owned by a brasilian friend of my (Nina) boss in Zurich.Very beautiful house,a bit like a church but also a bit scary.after that we found out that no one else were staying there and the maid was leaving at 5.So, me and geri,2 crazy barking dogs,a "schmuselkatze" and a big painting of Jesus above our bed.And...at least 35C,hardly let us sleep that night.

Well,as we said before, everything has an end.......(only the sausage has 2)....sad but true. This trip has really been amazing. We saw so many beautiful places, met tons of good people, had the time of our lives. And now its ending very soon.Feels a bit sad.Tomorrow evening we fly to Rio for 3 days before we have our flight back to the reality....It s gonna be tough.Imean It s always nice to come back home after a long time away but.......................Sure we gonna have some small crisis,so I think we have to start planning the next vacation as soon as possible.Anyway for those who wanna know when we get back (Only if we survive Rio of course)hi hi hi Arriving in Zurich the 15 th of feb. 18:55 with Air france AF 5108 from Paris.

P.S For those we dont see that often we will update some more photos from home

Stay tuned,see you soon

The journey is ending soon

Well, the days are going on very fast now, its always like this when the end is so close. We got very used to this life and made some wonderful friends. But on the other hand it seems also that the rainseason is very close ,cause the weather had change the last couple of days. Joris, our belgian host and in the meantime very good friend, took us for two days up north to Fortaleza end even more north to Cumbuco, which is actually the capitol of kitesurfing in Brasil. We passed also Parajuru and Uruau and we found out what we did to stay down in Icapui was the best decision for us. Without a 4x4 Car its kind of impossible to visit all this small beach villages without any paved roads and around Cumbuco it can be also quite dangerous. There are a lot of rumors and stories around about the security and it seem they have a real problem up there. It s such a pity cause the landscape is amazing beautiful up there.
Well, we tried very hard to change our flight tickets because we found out there is a flight from Recife aswell, would be perfect for us cause we really dont want to go south to the big Citys Rio and Sao Paolo. But after running trough Fortaleza and everybody telling us another story we gave up.
In the only Bar 10km from here we are in the meantime knowned very well. We had so many funny nights there and last time I even played Guitar ans sang my famous Ronan Keating songs on stage to the surprised Brasilian Crowd. We had such a good laugh and i won a free night in the pousada of Joris. Typical swiss ha,for money they do everything....

Enjoy the silence

Well,we almost feel abit embarrassed, should ve left this place days and even weeks ago,but something is still holding us here, which is quite nice actually.I mean the place is great, and more or less no tourists,so we re kind of getting in to the Brasilian lifestyle a bit.We re having a great time here, and meeting alot of really nice people.Tomorrow our Belgian host is taking us on atrip towards Fortaleza and Cumbuco (which are some places more north)to see some other things.I mean we havent been really in a travelmood for a while now, with dragging our bagage on different buses, taxis, looking for places to stay.........
The time is going kind of fast now.We only have about 2 more weeks.Cant really believe that this fantastic journey is going to end so soon. But everything has an end......
Decided anyway to spend the last days before we fly home in canoa Quebrada.Heard alot about this place so maybe we should see it.
Well this is it for now,see you later alligator

Kitesurfing days

Well, there is not much to say this time. We are still at the same place in Icapui, which is really far outside. Here it is really Brasilian, that means only this pousada we are staying in and not much more. Our belgian host who is actually only 30 years old, is just super nice and he took us with him to places and partys where we were really the only Gringos. And this all works in a safe feeling what i thought doesnt excist in Brasil, but it really does. Well, Nina is reading book after book and still working on her dark, dark skin, and I m kiting everday. The wind conditions are not that bad for this time cause it s the end of the windy season. Once i had an immense Kiteday, with Aladin. He is a 17 years old local guy who lives here and getting prepared for his professional Kitesurfing career. He is already ranked in top 30 of the world. Anyway he took me with him kiting all along the coast for about 5km downwind to a very nice lagoon with amazing flat water. There we had a super cool kitesession till sunset, then our Host came by Jeep and picked us up and we drove back all along the beach, just big time...
Anyway we have to go further on north soon, but why... we love it so much here... so its difficult to get into these hard travelling mood again.
Well, thats it for right now,
Cheers

Journeys,not from this world

Salvador, so,what happened..after having a fantastic dinner at an italian Restaurant,Geri struggled through very bad sickness. While freezing with fever he was tumbling between bed and toilet (actually we re not really sure it was from that). But after Nina had dinner at the same place, on her own because Geri was sick, she had also a pretty rough night with bad stomache.
We were very lucky we recovered very fast because the next day we had a planeticket, going north, and it was going to be a hell of a long day...
First of all the Taxidrive to the airport 45 minutes, then the plane to Recife had 2 hours delay.
Arriving in Recife another 30 Minutes Taxidrive to the busterminal. Buying bustickets on some kind of portugese, spanish. Waiting 2 more hours for the bus to leave. Finally getting on the road. After about 2 hours the bloody bus broke down and we had to change bus in the darkness.
Kicked out of the bus in Gohiniha in the middle of nowhere around 9.30pm we finally got a taxi to drive us to our final destination that day,Praia da Pipa. But what a surprise ,this wasnt the end...after this horror day the room we had booked and had confirmed was, belive it or not,occupied...So we had to spend 2 nights in a backyard cave. After we got the room that we actually booked we spended a couple of really nice days, with our american neighbour and friend Will, swimming with the dolphins, eating shrimps, sipping Caipirinhas while waiting for the damn wind.
Now, we are staying another 6 hours busdrive north of Pipa, between Natal and Fortaleza,in the quite unexplored Icapui.
Here we found the place of our dreams,a beautiful Pousada, right by the ocean,a very nice young belgian kitesurfing host, and Wind. We wish we could stay here until the end of our trip but unfortunately it is a bit over our budget...we will see....
